ORANGE BEACH, AL | August 13, 2021 –  Community Senior Life reports positive COVID cases at their three Baldwin County communities. Homestead Village of Fairhope, Live Oak Village in Foley, and Haven Memory Care in Gulf Shores recently reported positive COVID-19 cases within their communities.

  • Homestead Village of Fairhope reports an assisted living staff member reported symptoms associated with Covid-19. Per company policy, an on-site rapid test was administered and confirmed a positive result. Tests were then administered for Huntingdon Assisted Living residents and staff, with two additional independent staff members and four assisted living residents testing positive. Of the four assisted living residents, two had previously received the COVID vaccine.
  • Live Oak Village reports an assisted living staff member reported symptoms associated with COVID-19 and was administered an on-site rapid test. Test results were positive. A second employee presented with symptoms associated with COVID and was administered an on-site rapid test. Test results were positive. Per company policy, all assisted living staff and residents were administered an on-site rapid test, with no additional positive results noted. Of the two assisted living employees, one had previously received the COVID vaccine.
  • Haven Memory Care in Gulf Shores reports an employee reported symptoms associated with COVID-19 and was administered a rapid test. Test results were positive. Per company policy, all employees and residents were administered an on-site rapid test with no additional positive cases noted. The employee had previously received the COVID vaccine.

Staff members have remained quarantined from the communities since testing positive. All facilities have conducted additional on-site rapid testing. Until such time as the building is free of COVID-19, assisted living residents will have all meals served in their apartments, and group activities have been suspended with care staff offering one-on-one activities. Staff members and residents will be required to wear masks regardless of their vaccination status.

Since the threat of COVID-19 began, the care staff at all Community Senior Life communities continue to follow daily sanitation and disinfection procedures along with universal precautions protocols. Each Baldwin County community participated in on-site vaccine clinics in January – March for their residents and staff. Community Senior Life is following all local and state departments of health requirements, including employee and vendor screenings and the staff-wide usage of facemasks while on duty and most recently, suspended all indoor visitation for Baldwin County communities due to the increased positivity rate.
