Gulf Shores, AL [July 28, 2020] – After an employee self-reported a positive COVID test result, the nursing staff at Haven Memory Care conducted 66 on-site COVID-19 tests among all memory care residents and staff members.
Out of 66 tests, 65 test results came back negative with 1 additional employee testing positive. The two confirmed positive employees have remained quarantined from the community.
Since the threat of COVID-19 began, the care staff at Haven Memory Care have practiced sanitation and disinfection procedures each shift on a daily basis throughout the entire community.
Community Senior Life is following all local and state department of health requirements included employee screening prior to contact with residents and the staff-wide usage of face masks while on duty. Haven Memory Care is continuing to practice universal precautions:
- Disinfecting/cleaning protocols;
- Hand washing and personal hygiene
- Wearing appropriate personal protection equipment
- And, social distancing both in the community and encouraging employees to do so while off duty
Furthermore, the nursing staff at Haven Memory Care screens each resident for fever and respiratory symptoms twice daily.
All Haven Memory Care residents are staying within the community for care, service, and meals per previous Community Senior Life protocols. We will continue to prohibit families, volunteers, and non-essential providers from visiting the community as put into effect on March 20, 2020.
