From the beautiful beaches of South Alabama to the foothills of Fort Payne, Alabama and everywhere in between, CSL staffers can be found volunteering with local chambers of commerce, sitting on regulatory boards or chairing fundraisers. This “give back” attitude starts with our leadership.
J. Douglas Warren, President and CEO
At the helm of Community Senior Life you will find our leader, Mr. Doug Warren. Mr. Warren joined Community Health Systems, Inc. in 1991 and in 2010 was named President & CEO of Community Health Systems and its affiliates.
Mr. Warren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University, and pursued his graduate work at the University of Alabama Executive Master of Business Administration Program. Prior to his affiliation with Community Health Systems, Mr. Warren served as Marketing Director for Horizon Health Care; a Chicago based healthcare Management and Consulting Company. Upon joining Community Health Systems, Inc. in 1991 he was named Assistant to the President, then Director of Special Projects. In that capacity, he worked in a variety of management roles including Hospital Administration, Quality Assurance, Physician Recruitment, Business Development, Property Acquisition, and building design and construction. In 1994, Mr. Warren was named Vice-President Operations and assumed responsibility for Community Health Systems Senior programs and Retirement Village development. Currently Mr. Warren is responsible for Corporate Operations of CHS’s senior care holdings. Mr. Warren also serves as the President & CEO of SAGE Management, CHS Properties, and the real estate arm for the 200 acre single family home development, LiveOak Village. In 2010 the CHS Board of Directors elevated Mr. Warren to the position of President & CEO for Community Health Systems, Inc., and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Mr. Warren served as a Governor’s appointee to the State of Alabama Licensure Advisory Board where held the office of Immediate Past Chairman, serving as Chairman from 2007 to 2013. He served as the two term Chairman of the Board for the Assisted Living Association of Alabama (ALAA) and served on their Legislative and Executive committees, as well as serving as Finance Chair. Mr. Warren served on the Board of Directors for Vision Bancshares and Vision Bank as well as being a member of the Vision Bancshares Audit Committee. He currently serves on the Medical Clinic Board for the city of Orange Beach, as Chairman for the Gulf Coast Health Care Authority. He is on the Board of Directors’ of the State of Alabama Small Business Consortium through the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is member of several professional and civic organizations including the Alabama Hospital Association, the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) and the Assisted Living Association of Alabama. Mr. Warren is also a Trustee of the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.
Steven G. Globetti, Executive Vice President and Corporate Compliance Officer
Mr. Globetti holds a Master of Arts degree in Public and Private Management (MPPM) from Birmingham-Southern College and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has over thirty years corporate management experience in the healthcare and service industries.
Since joining Community Health Systems (CHS) in 1986, he has worked in a variety of leadership roles including operations, compliance, mail-order pharmacy, long-term care, hospital administration, emergency services, business development, construction, property management, communications, physician recruitment, purchasing, consulting and loss prevention.
He is a member of several professional and civic organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Walker Area Community Foundation, HealthAction Partnership and the Assisted Living Association of Alabama.
Daniel M. Scarbrough, M.D., Executive Vice President & Medical Director
Affectionately known as “Dr. Dan”, Dr. Scarbrough serves as Medical Director for our CHS facilities and is on call 24/7 to our SAGE Management team. Dr. Scarbrough received his Bachelor of Science in 1967 and his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi in 1971. He performed a general rotating internship at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi and was Board Certified in family practice in 1973.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, Alabama Medical Association, and Baldwin County Medical Association. He served as Chief of Staff of Walker Regional Medical Center for two terms and was Vice Chairman of the Walker Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees for sixteen years. He was one of the founders of Community Health Systems in 1983 and has contributed countless hours of uncompensated services to these organizations. He served as Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee of Walker Regional Medical Center during the construction of the hospital. He also was a founding Director of South Trust Bank of Walker County, served eight years as a Director and was a founding originator and director of Vision Bank of Baldwin County.
